Dare to be different

Posted on January 04, 2020

Life can be challenging… My life, like yours, has not been a bed of roses. I have been charitable and I have had to ask for charity. I have scraped to put $5 worth of fuel in my car and I’ve put $80 in my tank. I’ve had $5 to feed myself and I have had $500 to entertain my friends. I have had to hitch rides and I’ve given them. I’ve had a house full of food and I have been without food. I’ve been in stores with no worries of cashing out and I’ve also had to add-up everything and put things back because I did not have the funds. I’ve paid my rent in full and I’ve had to pay it late. I’ve given money and I too have had to ask for it. You see we all have highs and lows in life, unfortunately some more than others, but at the end of the day we are all just trying to make it through. No one is better than anyone else, education helps us understand and gain employment but it does not make us better, money helps us afford a life style but it does not determine our worth, ethics can give us a moral compass but it does not give us the right to judge. The fact is that no matter how big your house, how new your car or how much money is in your bank account, we all the same. Death does not discriminate and neither should your life. Be kind to others, treat them as you would like to be treated. However you need to understand that while there are people who will pretend to love you they will desert you during one of life’s storms just so they can shine… that is life. You do not have to be like them, you can dare to be different. Please take the time in 2020 to be who you aspire to be!

Peace and Goodwill
